Playwriting Class: The First Draft
Gina is teaching a playwriting class at ESPA called The First Draft.
From the ESPA wesbite: “Whether you're writing your first play or your hundredth, it's not always easy to set the creative wheels in motion. This 10-week class will guide you through the development of your first draft.”
Classes will be in person in Manhattan at ART Studios (520 8th avenue)

Creating the Fictional You: Putting Autobiographical Stories on Stage
Join Gina for a 2-hour online seminar about writing autobiographical stories for the stage.
Do you have a story you want to tell in which you’re the protagonist? In this seminar, Gina Femia will guide students to develop a narrative around their lived experiences. Whether you're writing a solo show or a multi-character play in which one of the characters is you, students will learn techniques to take center stage while theatricalizing their story.
January 22nd from 6:30pm-8:30pm CT
Cost is $15 for Playwrights’ Center members, $20 for non-members.

How to get started: Writing a novel

Do you want to stretch your creative muscles? Learn how to write in a new medium? Or have you always had the dream to write a novel but aren’t sure how to get started - or how to keep going? Then this class is for you.
I know firsthand that there are folks out there who want to write a novel but have trouble figuring out how to start and how to keep going (I was one of them!) so I designed this class with that in mind.
Over the course of 7 weeks, you'll put together a toolkit with tools for writing your novel and create a synopsis, a polished outline (including character descriptions) and the first chapter of your novel - as well as a strategy for hitting your goals way past our time together.
